Can you help me get a domain name?
Yes, we can. If you are not sure whether your desired domain name is available, please check it using checkdomain.com. The registration fee is HK$120 for .com / .net / .org domain names and HK$200 for .com.hk ones. We also provide web hosting services via our partners, just tell us your desired domain name and we will handle all the rest.
Do you work for overseas clients?
Yes, we do. We communicate fluently in English and Chinese, and we enjoy working with people from around the world.
What is a Project Site?
We have a Project Site because we are committed to an open, collaborative design process. Once we begin a project, you will receive a username and password. Anywhere you have internet access, you can send messages and review your project’s deadlines (milestones), to-dos, message boards, as well as contact information for everyone collaborating on the website production. It's powered by Basecamp and highly secured and confidential.
How much do you charge or how long does it take for XYZ?
When sufficient information is provided, BeansBox will prepare a written quotation of assignment schedule, costs, and terms and conditions. When sufficient detailed information is not provided, pricing will be based on our hourly labour rate. No assignment will be started without a signed acceptance of the quotation or proposal, or a purchase order authorization. If the scope or nature of a project changes to such an extent that the original quotation no longer applies, a new quotation may be provided.
If my website has fewer pages, would your quote be cheaper?
Not likely. First, our quote is not based on number of pages. We believe it is not fair to charge on additional page(s) when it is just a mere duplication of the same design, as 90% of our efforts go to the design work, not the content copy-and-paste work. Second, it is meaningless to charge per page when our clients can always add pages using a web-based content management tool we provide to them. Thus our quote will remain the same unless there is a substantial change in the nature and scale of your website.
What are your payment terms?
All orders will only take effect upon receipt of a duly signed copy of a quotation and a deposit representing 50% of the total project amount stated in the quotation. Remaining 50% will be due upon project completion. We may offer different payment terms for projects requiring more than 3 months to complete, and occasionally request full payment upon order confirmation for small or rush projects.
Do I have ownership to the work you created for me?
The final product we created becomes, after payment, the property of you (the client), except in the case of illustration or photography or where otherwise indicated. All preparatory materials (sketches, concepts not utilized, artwork, mechanical files, computer files, etc.) remain the property of BeansBox. Unless otherwise specified or negotiated, all rights for original concepts, designs, illustrations and writings created by BeansBox remain the property of BeansBox. BeansBox retains authorship, and shall receive credit on the final results whenever possible. For example: © 2008 (or year created) BeansBox.
